Ingredients
300g All Purpose Flour / Pastry Flour + 2tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
120g Sugar
150g Margarine/ Salted Butter
1tsp Vanilla
2 Tbsp Milk Powder
150 ml Cool water
Method
- Preheat your oven to 175 degrees
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, milk powder, nutmeg, and baking powder.
- Add the margarine and rub it into the dry ingredients with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Stir in the sugar and mix well.
- Add vanilla to your water and sprinkle it in while using a fork to gently distribute it evenly in the mixture. The dough should not be smooth—it should look rough and clumpy.
- Scoop portions of the mixture onto a prepared baking tray, leaving about 3inches spaces between each bun.
- Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and immediately transfer the buns to a wire rack to cool completely.
